The background looks really good. The figure on a plan background would be striking, but having a little more going on behind her makes the picture more interesting. And its pink, which makes it instantly good with me :)

welcome to the dark side
kick-start your horror art here . . .

Thanks. That was really me messing around. The figure sat there for a good three weeks finished before I figured something out to put in the background. City-scapes are really cliche, but I still like them.

still my favorite and yeah it just seemed like your work would be on here as well, there is some great inspiration and stiff competition on here for all of us.

Yeah, I have a lot of photog friends. Worse thing about the internet and digital photography is that a lot of people can fake being good, and those without an eye (normal people I guess) have a hard time telling the difference.

Luckily, the cream still rises to the top.

Thanks for looking me up, I'll add you to my watch list and bother you from time to time.

fake being good? My pet peeve is that I am naturally kinda modest about talking about my work, cause i didn't' go to school for it, am self taught and haven't been published.

And you talk to some of these photographers and they seem to look down their noses at you for not knowing the technical details of photography, for not having been published, for not knowing the right peopel...and I listen to them and feel bad about myself.

Then I see their book and I realize that all the technical skill or knowing people or having money for equipment can't give you an eye. They can fudge it through superior technology but once we are on a level playing field I feel I blow them away.

So yeah, that's my story and I am sticking to it, and it's totally unrelated.

Yup, that eye is important. Though (being a schooled designer and illustrator) the schooling does help a lot. But it's just a tool in the arsenal, not the end-all-be-all measure of someone's skill.

I tell you though, I didn't know about you're self-taught ways... and I would have guessed you did have some school background. So you're work fooled me.

well self taught in photoshop and photography, I went to school on an art scholarship for pen and ink. I understand composition very well. Did some video work as well.

Thank you

OMG ITS EMO! BURN!!!

:iconevilcanofjoy:
First of all, you have no idea what you're talking about. You're 16, a child. Second of all, emo is a state of emotions and not an art style. Emo is a mass marketed sub-culture that's taken over the "rebellious" market from goth.

Last time I checked, my personality wasn't marked on a clothing rack 50% off to me like yours.

And if you're going to throw stones, you better have something more creative than some badly taken headshots that you haven't even figured out how to rotate. Every computer can rotate images... Macs, Pcs.... etc. So I'm chalking that up to the fact you're not the quickest mouse in the maze.

Which makes sense, you subscribe to mass marketed emo drool.

See how things are circular and connected?
